Chef Matt also has vast experience incorporating food allergy, food-specific, and gluten-free menus into the mix, and we guarantee the creativity and flexibility offered is unmatched in this industry. True Farm-to-Fork Catering
In early 2024, Oakside Farms, a local produce farming outfit, developed 2.5 acres of Newcastle Gardens’ property to create an incredible farm-to-fork experience. Family-owned and operated, Oakside Farms provides fresh, seasonal produce to Newcastle Gardens so that we may elevate our menus and deliver the best culinary experience possible for your big event.

Meet Our Chef
Newcastle Gardens’ in-house chef, Matt Mermod, has been working in the restaurant industry for over thirty years. He has consulted with and helped to open restaurants across the West Coast, including restaurants in Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose and San Diego. He opened his own Creole-influenced restaurant in downtown Napa, Bleaux Magnolia, in 2005.
Specifically, his ten years of experience for a large catering company in the very food-diverse South Bay gives Newcastle Gardens a distinct edge when it comes to menu design. Italian, French, Asian and Southern cuisine, featuring sushi, homemade pizza, street tacos, pasta specialties, home-made artisanal breads, loaves, and desserts; all challenges are accepted! The only limit a menu has at Newcastle Gardens is the imagination of our client, and nothing makes us happier than bringing a couple’s culinary vision to life. Food truly is a language of love, and here, we speak it fluently.
